For New Patients - Your First Visit

    We practice conservative dentistry. For instance, because tooth loss is a serious issue, we view an extraction as a last resort. We perform root canals to save severely damaged teeth, when possible, or may refer you to a specialist. Our non-surgical gum disease therapy has restored total oral wellness to many of our patients with periodontal problems.

    Our front staff has many years of combined experience to help with scheduling, time concerns, billing options and assistance with dental insurance.

    Your first appointment will be stress-free, relaxing, and positive. We won’t rush you, and we won’t expect you to be like every other patient. 

    We treat each patient individually, so we'll take time to get to know you, your unique experiences, and your situation. If you have dental fears, let us know right away so that we can provide appropriate anxiety reducing measures.

    After you’ve settled comfortably into one of our state-of-the-art operatory chairs, we’ll take Digital X-Rays and intraoral photos of your mouth, so we can have a clear view of your current oral health. 

    We will review the findings and your photos with you on one of our chairside monitors. Our caring hygienist will gently check your gums for signs of periodontal disease, and we will inspect each of your teeth for decay or damage.

      Your first visit will take about one-and-a-half hours, because we want to give you all of the attention you deserve, so be sure to plan your schedule accordingly.

More About Dental Fear

We Understand Your Fears

    Many patients have communicated a fear or "dental phobia" around dentistry that keeps them from even picking up the phone to make a simple cleaning appointment.  You should NOT feel embarrassed or abnormal.  Many people feel your same anxieties.  An excellent way to help yourself is to call and ask for a "tour" of our office and meet out happy staff. 

    
    
    You are under absolutely NO obligation and we do not charge for this service.  Then you can see for yourself if we are the perfect office for you!  Also we do offer many ways to help you through your first visit.  Depending on your medical history, we can perscribe oral medications to calm you.  Nitrous oxide, or "happy gas" is another option that is extremely safe for all ages.
